Chuck Berry – School days/Deep feeling

The UK Chess Singles – One by One

The only Chess single currently known to have been released on the EMI Columbia label in the UK is Chuck Berry’s famous “Ring ring goes the bell” – School Days, which was released on Columbia DB 3951 in June 1957. At the time, Chess was distributed by Decca on their London label but it is thought that Decca declined to release the song – making it available for EMI to secure the release instead. We are unaware of any other Chess issues on EMI labels. Thought to be rare, but some copies have come up for auction around £50.
