R&B saxophonist Wilburt “Red” Prysock (foreground in the picture) was born on February 2, 1926 and died on July 19, 1993 of a heart attack. He first came to prominence in 1952 as a member of Tiny Bradshaw’s band. He is also associated with Alan Freed. His brother was the singer Arthur Prysock, who died in 1997.
