The Five Notes

The Five Notes | Restored by Google | tc360

The Five Notes were a group from Milwaukee which featured among its members Al “TNT” Braggs. They were also known as The Five Masks and The Five Stars. I have not been able to find a complete line up for this group, can anyone help please?

Al “TNT” Braggs went on to record for the Duke record company. Charlie Gillett notes that he was born on 23rd May, 1938 and died on 3rd December, 2003, and is famous for recording the first version of the song “Cigarettes and Coffee” which was made more famous by Otis Redding.

“Park Your Love” on Chess 1614 was the group’s only Chess recording.
