Rock and roll and rhythm and blues singer and pianist Archie A. Gordon (Stomp Gordon) was born on 10 February 1926 and died on 18 January 1958 of pneumonia and liver disease. A musical prodigy, he began playing publicly at age 13 and had his own band by 16! However his recordings were not as successful as his live performances and he only made the one recording for Chess, “The Grind”/”Don’t do me that way”.
