Dave Hamilton

Dave Hamilton | Ace Records | tc363

Record producer, instrumentalist (zylophone and guitar) and singer Dave Hamilton was born around 1920 and moved from Georgia to Detroit where eventually he became one of the members of the famous Motown backing group, the Funk Brothers. He became disenchanted with Motown and set up on his own, becoming a successful record producer and musician. Hamilton’s guitar can be heard on ‘Reet Petite’ by Jackie Wilson and ‘Please Mr Postman’ by the Marvelettes. Ace Records have released his back catalogue on CD. Unfortunately Mr Hamilton is no longer living, and we do not have complete biographical details for him.
