Carlos “Buddy” Moreno was born on 14 July 1912 and died on November 29, 2015. He was an actor, singer with big bands in the swing era, a model who appeared in cigarette advertisements, a bodybuilder, and later became a radio disc jockey. In 1943 he became the main vocalist with the Harry James Orchestra, then served in the US Army in World War Two and after leaving the Army, had his own orchestra. “One Dozen Roses” was issued by US Chess in 1953.
