Robert L Beavers (Jackey Beavers) was born in Georgia. After serving with US Forces he took up singing. He is associated with Johnny Bristol and Harvey Fuqua, and with them wrote the song “Someday we’ll be together” for The Supremes. He recorded a number of records with Johnny Bristol under the name “Johnny and Jackey”. On some labels he was named as Jackey Beaver. He recorded for a number of different labels then went to College and became a Minister of Religion, recording gospel albums. Jackey Beavers died in October 1988.
