Blues singer Oscar Wills (T. V. Slim) was born on 10 February, 1916, and died on 21 October, 1969. He is mainly known for his recording of “Flatfoot Sam” which was recorded in 1957 in Shreveport by Stan Lewis; through his contacts with Chess, Lewis leased the record to Chess for national distribution. However Chess were not satisfied with the recording quality and the record was re-recorded. The re-recorded version was issued originally on the Argo label. Then Chess changed their mind and released the original version on Checker!
