Country and hillbilly music singer Tommy Trent was born on March 8, 1924 and died on July 25, 2003.. In 1952 he came to the attention of legendary record entrepreneur Stan Lewis, who was acting as a talent scout for Chess. The record issued, Paper Boy Boogie, was recorded at radio station KWKH. Trent made the record to assist his public appearances rather than become a recording star. His next record was made for a different company, in 1956. Trent went into record production and also became a radio disc jockey.
