Jazz singer Joseph Goreed (Joe Williams) was born on December 12, 1918 and died on March 29, 1999, of natural causes after discharging himself from hospital. His singing career started in 1938. His signature song, Every Day I have the blues, was recorded for Checker records in 1952. In 1954 he became singer with the Count Basie Orchestra.
