Jimmy Grissom was a jazz and blues singer who had already had a number of years of success when he signed with Argo Records in the late 1950s. His first hit had been “Christmas brings me down” in 1948. The period with Argo is mainly remembered for the single “Mean And Evil Woman Blues/World Of Trouble” on Argo 5460. He is also known for his singing with the Duke Ellington Orchestra.
