The Students were a singing group from Cincinatti who were originally called the D’Italians and were Leroy King, Dorsey Porter, Roy Ford, John Bolden, Richard Johnson and Ralph Byrd. The recording “I’m so young” for which they are best remembered was leased to Chess, who suggested the name The Students for the group. The recording was issued on Checker 902 and again on Argo and Cadet 5386.
