Edward Reardon (Eddie Fontaine) was born on March 6, 1927 and died on April 13, 1992 of throat cancer, age 65. He served in the US Navy before making his first record (not for Chess) in 1954. He recorded his best known song “Nothing shaking” in 1958. He became involved in acting, appearing in television shows such as “77 Sunset Strip” and “Happy Days”. In 1984 Fontaine was tried and convicted in a murder-for-hire case. Fontaine served four years in prison.
