Actress Benice (sometimes Bernice) Swanson had appeared in a number of British films of the late 1950s and early 1960s, perhaps the best known film being Look back in Anger. Her record on Chess, Lying awake, is a British production. She is recorded as having performed the single on the British television series “Thank your lucky stars” in 1965. The recording was issued on the Chess label in both the UK and US. Bernice died in 1972.
