Laura Rucker

Laura Rucker was a blues pianist and singer who is associated with the big band era, her duets with Georgia Tom Dorsey and her singing with pianist Earl Hines. Her earliest known recording is around 1926. She had recorded for a number of labels including Decca before joining Aristocrat in 1947, where she recorded a number of tracks with the Claude McLin Combo. Her best known track from these sessions, Crying the blues, was recorded on March 22, 1949. Dates for this artist and photographs of this artist have not been traced.
