The Valentinos are a famous soul group originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and was also known as the Womack Brothers. The initial line up was Friendly Womack, Jr., Curtis Womack, Bobby Womack, Harry Womack and Cecil Womack. In 1964 they recorded “It’s all over now” which became a big hit for The Rolling Stones.

Bobby Womack left the group to begin his solo and session-musician career in 1965, recording briefly for Chess Records. He left Chess and the group then signed with Chess Records in 1966, when they recorded two singles, “Do It Right” and “Let’s Get Together” but did not find success and they left the company; and Cecil left the group.

There was also a Liverpool, UK group at the same time called The Valentinos.
