Cookie and His Cupcakes were a group from south Louisiana. They were Huey “Cookie” Thierry (1936–1997), Sidney “Hot Rod” Reynaud, Marshall Laday, Ernest Jacobs, Joe “Blue” Landry and Ivory Jackson. They were formed in 1953 and recorded for other labels before joining Chess, where they recorded a few singles, the most successful was “Got You on My Mind” which was recorded in 1963. Cookie left the Cupcakes to their own devices in 1965!
