John Brim was born on April 10, 1922 and died on October 1, 2003 of heart cancer, age 81. He recorded a number of songs for the Checker and Chess labels in the 1950s, including “Rattlesnake”, which was withdrawn to avoid legal complications, and “It was a dream”. Brim’s last Checker single, “I Would Hate to See You Go,” was recorded in 1956.
