The Vibrations were a vocal group who performed through the 1950s, 60s and 70s recording for a number of labels including Atlantic (who leased their material from their then producer Bert Berns) and Neptune, a label distributed by Chess, from 1969 onwards. They also recorded under a number of other group names as well!

A mainstay member of the group during this time was Carl Fisher. During the early 1960s they had a contract with Chess, who put them on the Checker label, and they immediately had a hit with “Watusi”. This was followed by a string of novelty and dance records, which the group detested. They did also get to record some standards, like “Time after time” for an LP.
