Addie Bradley (Jan Bradley) was born on July 6, 1943. She initially recorded for Chess under the direction of Curtis Mayfield. “Mama didn’t lie” became a major hit on the pop charts as well as the R&B Charts in 1963 but its success was not repeated. She became a social worker but is now thought to have retired.
